Hi Nicole

Friday was a hectic day. I apologize for not being more clear. We will do this assignment tomorrow. If you would like to get a head of the game, this is what we will be doing tomorrow, however, it will be due on Tuesday.
Thank you for your concerns!

Natasha,

The independent questions normally come up at the end of the period to reinforce the topics we went over during the class. If at times I do not address the independent questions due to a lack of time, consider them as comprehension questions. These additional questions help you think to a deeper level that surpass the surface meaning. You do not have to write them down, however, I would like for you to try and find the answers to validate your understanding for todays lesson. This way, when a test comes around, you have an idea as to what I expect you understand from the hands-on experience. I appreciate your communication Natasha. It is a great question considering that I was not very clear about it in class. I will clear it up with all of my classes tomorrow.

Thank you,
Mrs. Fagan

Hi Mrs.Fagan, i just wanted to know if we have to do the independent questions for homework, since you never really fully said that it would have to be for homework. Can you please let me know if we have to complete it.

Thank you, Natasha.

1. The main expectation I have as you being my teacher is to give me and everyone else, a fair chance. I definately hate it when teachers play the "favorite game". Also, I have had some teachers in the past that go on a "power-trip" and think that respect goes one way. To me, this puts up a wall between us and I will feel as if it's a royal-to-servent relationship rather than a teacher-to-student relationship.

2. Some qualities I feel make up a good teacher are patience and understanding. The reason I say patience is because I do not liked to be rushed. I normaly take things at a slower pace than most people and I have my whole life. Now, keep in mind I do succeed in most things as a result of it. Secondly, I choose understanding because sometimes, I and many other students, mess up. We make mistakes. I would like a teacher to be able to accept some of these mistakes and help us to grow from them instead of just yelling and screaming at us.

3. I have had three main teachers that I really grew attached to. The first one would have to be my 7th grade english teacher, Mrs. Sacco. She was a hard teacher but she helped me in ways that many teachers would have just over looked. I still remember that when it came to something I was really good at, for example: poetry, she congratulated me and made me very confident in myself. My second teacher would be my 8th grade science teacher Mr. Byrne. This class must have been the most fun I had ever had in school. He made everything come so easy. His lesson plans were just so enjoyable and hands-on. On a personal note, Mr. Byrne even came to one of my ice hockey games in up-state New York. Lastly, my freshman biology teacher, Ms. Cierech. Not only was biology my favorite class, but I also had one of my favorite teachers teaching it. I loved the fact that she used Power Point. It made things very easy for me to copy notes. She was the kind of teacher that I would stay after school for even when I didn't have to.

4. The learning style I feel is best for me is visual. I have been a visual learner for as long as i can remember. Power Point presentations really do help me rather than someone reading off notes for me to copy. I do better in this environment as well as enjoy it.

5. I find it hard to pin-point a specific project that I really liked alot. I have done so many of them that they are all pretty much scattered around my house (exept for the special occasion where a teacher wants to keep it for an example). One thing I do love is art, which means that I do do well on "artsy" projects. Anything that has me either draw or involves graphically designing pictures is great. It lets me express myself in a unconventional way that I really enjoy. Like you, I am not a fantastic test taker. Which is why I usually get fairly high grades on projects. I take my time on them and try to exceed expectations of what is asked of me.

6. What I really hope to learn this year from this class is how to use Photoshop. As a summer job, I started working on a website for my father's business. I had to make graphics, use codes, and transcribe information on to the page. I always tell my dad that if I had the program Photoshop, (or let alone use it), I could do so much more with his site. This helps me use what I have learned in the class room in real-life situations. As you said, "Computers is a required course like math, not an elective." That made me think if I use math in every day situations, why not computers?
